A little story from the artist:

"The king of Zahor tried to burn Guru Rinpoche alive, because his daughter Mandarava was longing to become his disciple. Guru Rinpoche transformed the fire into a lake called Rewalsa Tso Pema in Tibetan, established the Dharma in the land of Zahor and took Mandarava as his consort

Lama Wangdor Rinpoche, a noted Tibetan Dzogchen master, spent almost 60 years meditating in the caves above Tso Pema, which were first used by Guru Rinpoche. In solitary retreat during the early years, Wangdor Rinpoche was eventually joined over time by more than 50 cave-dwelling yogins and yoginis who looked to him for guidance and support.

Wangdor Rinpoche also built a monumental statue of Guru Rinpoche. The statue is filled with relics of Padmasambhava himself as well as many others of the Dzogchen, Nyingma and Kagyu lineages.

During his passing having attained parinirvana during tukdam meditation from September 16th to September 23rd 2019, Wangdor Rinpoche is a peerless Buddha of our time in the Dzogchen lineage."
